That's interesting... what did the goldfish bite on? There're some goldfish in the ponds in my area but I can't figure out how to catch them Dodgy

Believe it or not I caught them on big chunks of weiner. My nephew and I were using the weiners for Brown Bullhead. Here is a photo of one of the Goldfish/Koi. I have no clue which it is Blush

I've had luck catching a few Goldfish using those yellow plastic floating corn we use for carp. BUT I did notice the goldfish were more reactive to corn that is moving (ie. I caught most of them bit while retrieving the corn, not a sit a wait type deal like carp). Thinking a piece of corn on a float would be ideal for catching goldfish

That's a sick shot there Mcfly. You were retrieving the hair rig?

A while back there was a die off in Southlake. I saw many of these fish washed up along the shore.
Some of which had been filleted

Yep. I had a traditional carp set up with very very small miniature hair rigs but only had turtles hitting it where I was fishing (Brickworks). Then on my retrieve I noticed the goldfish were following the corn and this particular goldfish smashed it like a bass going for a popper! Pretty interesting... I wouldn't normally try to catch a goldfish but I really wanted to take this picture lol.

I'm pretty sure it's where those goldfish were caught.

I've fished there before just caught sunfish wasnt lucky enough to hook one of those monster goldfish. Then the next time I went back they were all washed up on the shoreline

The lake I was catching them at is on South Lake Drive in Brampton. It's at Williams Pkwy and 410. I've always called the place Lakelands. Is this the same place that you're talking about?

I only go there to catfish when my nephew wants a lot of action. There is New York sized rats all over the place that run from bush to bush. I really wish the city would clean it up.

Yes thats the spot I'm talking about, do you fish that pond right off of Williams? Or the bigger one near the park?

There seems to be a lot more urban fishing opportunties in Brampton than in Markham. I'm going to head out there and try some of these ponds.

I have fished the small one off of Williams, it's called Major Oaks. It holds LMB and Sunfish. It's a very tough place to fish as it's shallow and very weedy.

The big one on Southlake is where I've been taking my nephew catfishing this year. I can confirm Brown Bullhead, Pumpkinseed, LMB, Common Carp and Koi. The big lake also has two small ponds right beside it. The next time I go there I'm going to see if they hold any fish.
