I'll be in the Sarnia area this weekend .. Have never fished the area before so any tips of where to go would be most welcomed....
WOuld be targeting Smallmouth and Silver (white) bass mostly but really I'm going for whatever wants to hit.. Drums, channel cats, perch sucker, all are welcomed ! .. Catch and release as well Thanks Work is a necessity... Fishing is a lifestyle http://fishinenvy.wordpress.com/ |

Fish the St. Clair River...don't know where, but friend of mine catches the fish you mention in the Detroit. From the pictures he shown me, he's fishing downtown somewhere.

Good luck! I'm curious to hear if the silver bass are still hanging around shore or have gone back into the lake yet or not. Let us know how you do.

RE: Fishing Sarnia this weekend .. Help wanted :)
SO I'm back from my Sarnia excursion and I must say beautiful area!!! But the fishing was rather disappointing, but I think the Hot humid, sunny weather played a major role in that.. St. Clair river though is a hard river to fish! The current is tremendous, It felt more like fishing a tidal river by the ocean, I couldn't use enough weight to keep my bait on the bottom.
We did find some more slack water spots near marinas and breakwalls to fish but caught nothing more than some big rockbass, and a few small perch and bluegills.. Was hoping for Silver bass, smallies and drums though.. THe Rock bass were tasty though, so not complaining Work is a necessity... Fishing is a lifestyle http://fishinenvy.wordpress.com/ |

Thanks for the report.. been years since I have caught monster sized rockbass.. used to get em right off the rocks at Turkey Point. Probably right about the weather playing a factor. Perhaps a visit in the fall when the weather cools off will be in order.
