Downtown Calgary itself isnt exactly a fishing haven, and next week might be a wee bit early for the good stuff out there...
.. but the short 1/2 day drive up/back through Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise is fantastic. If you have time. If not that - next week weather won't be that bad in Calgary (.. so my son reports - he lives there) spend a few hours checking out the Prince's Island park on the Bow River and have a pint at the River Cafe.
