RE: Cheap/Knock-off lures
Good to hear John! That's truly awesome =D.
Can you recommend any shore fishing sites for Muskie? I could canoe out onto Pigeon Lake but I don't want to... die lol. |

RE: Cheap/Knock-off lures
I was always a fan of buying cheap/knock out lures. The result? caught few...I guess there is a reason why the lures are expensive...cause they do work...

RE: Cheap/Knock-off lures
OMG – I saw this and realized that I’ve thrown away tens of thousands of fishing lures in my day.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-kOYS6LaIU From now on I can honestly tell my lovely lady that I was busy all day - making lures………. US Patent pic: Looks like a snap wivel, a beer cap, two split shot, a split ring & a treble is all that is required. CHEERS, OldTimer <>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><> See you on the river. |

RE: Cheap/Knock-off lures
I saw those online. Not very good though, terrible action on them. You would be better off sawing the heads off teaspoons and drilling holes in them for spilt rings to hang your hooks on, you dont need to weight a spoon head and you can "adjust" the action with a hammer and some pliers.

RE: Cheap/Knock-off lures
Thats pretty funny, yet resourceful.
Reminds me of an episode of River Monsters where a girl waded into a river, wearing a belt made of beer caps, and was attacked by a fish and killed. |

RE: Cheap/Knock-off lures
Wow amazing use of beer caps! Who would have thought really? Nice video!
River monsters is entirely awesome, but sometimes the melodrama pains me LOL. Sometimes I feel that they shoot Wade fighting a snag and then grab a monster from the local aquarium for the prize shots. At least, that's what me and my friends joke about LOL. |
