Sorry but your wrong. if the sign is posted that there is no fishing, you can still be charged by enforcement officers for disobey sign. I know this for a fact as an enforcement officer my self. just sharing my experience.

Yes, as posted above your reply, I admitted my comment was erroneous and quoted section so of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act that gives municipality power to enforce their own bylaws regarding access in municipality parks. The statement should clarify the difference between city owned parks which, although public, are municipally owned and thus technically not public, vs. shorelines which are crown owned that is public and not under city control.

I take it that you are a municipal "by-law" officer then.........?

Have many been fined in this regard, in your experience?

That's cool.......... but are you aware of anyone actually being fined by other bylaw officers in this regard?

Norton Place Park is being ruined by people that think it's a free meal. I had to explain to a family of four ("new Canadians") that what they were doing was wrong. They had four buckets filled with at least 50 LMB, Pumpkinseed, Rock Bass and Bluegill. They are not licensed anglers. They were also transporting live fish. They even had the nerve to ask me for my first catch of the day, a 1lb LMB. We need to do something to stop these people from killing off our ponds.

Where are you going with this i wonder...

Straight to 222-TIPS to inform the MNR...that's where.

Yes sir!!

I do not frequent Norton Place Park anymore because of the low water issues. The crazy drop in water level has caused vegetation to die and the water quality to drop. I do not want to add anymore pressure to the pond.

Also, the area is starting to get rough again. Teenagers are starting to party there and there is male/female prostitutes lurking around in the woods - quite creepy.
