RE: Richmond Hill area spots
I've yet to catch anything at Mill Pond, where about's are you fishing from ? The main pond, or the smaller one with no great standing spots ?

I know it's not richmond hill, but if your willing to drive a bit south into the city. G Ross, has plenty of smaller Sunfish (pumpkin seeds, I believe) as well as some larger ones and lots of Carp. Not the cleanest of waters but if your just wanting to help teach her with some basic hook and worms, I'd check G Ross out ! I'm there all the time, just for some relaxing city fishin.

Hope That Helps Big Grin

I snagged a 30"+ carp there last night by accident (Mill Pond - main pond). Also got lots of perch, sunfish, rockbass, and even a crappie! Not to mention Large Mouth bass. Main pond has no fire ants so it's way better to fish, just a lot of nosy people that stand way to close for you to cast at times Confused oh well that's what you get for fishing at a park!

But remember to always practice catch and release, these small ponds can't sustain harvesting

If only everyone had this mentality. Sad to see what can happen to a pond in one year.

If you want carp or catfish...Milne Conservation or TooGood Pond has tons of carp and catfish. And no matter how pressured these waters are...I don't think it affects carp fishing. I'm not much of a fan of carp fishing but I still bring some corn...to alleviate the skunking i'm betting fishing for other species.

RE: Richmond Hill area spots
carp fishing could be boring for first timers as you have to sit and wait most of the time.

Where in these ponds can you catch carp?

anywhere you can cast...there will be carp. I don't target them but I always see them. I suggest Milne Dam as I've seen tons of them lately.

Yesterday I saw a huge pod of small 4-5lb carp. About 20 of them in a pool no bigger than 6'x6' under a sunken tree. They spook easy when you walk by though
