If I recall correctly, no live bait of any kind is allowed in Provincial Parks.

Pike can be good eating. Some people just cut them vertically into steaks instead of fillets. Lots of bones to contend with, which is the reason a lot of people shun them.

Frenchman Bay can be productive for bass and pike, also carp if you're that way inclined. (I'm not) Lake Scugog, has shore fishing, and the central Kawarthas aren't far.
