That's all well and good, fishfight...and yes, it is sad to see a growing demand for cheap Chinese trash. Those of us who enjoy such things as human rights, biodiversity, labour code, personal space, patent laws, and the ability to see the fucking sky -- definitely think it's sad.

My Shimanos are stamped Japan. My Daiwas are stamped Taiwan (and no, Taiwan is not a Chinese province). Basic maintenance and they are yet to fail me. I'm the last guy to give brand loyalty to any one manufacturer but as much as possible I avoid Chinese-made products.
