Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Common Carp, Yellow Perch, Bluegill and Pumpkinseed Sunfish and Brown Bullhead are most common. You can add in Chinook Salmon in the fall, perhaps a Steelhead or a Brown Trout here and there. I've also seen the occasional White Sucker, and in the spring a good run of Alweife. There are a lot of Round Goby in any rocky areas and a Stickleback species I've yet to catch to identify. Emerald Shiners are often in the basin as well. Personally, I don't keep anything at Bluffers. It's a busy marina with bilge waste constantly being pumped out of boats into the water. There's also the occasional oil slick. In the summer, there could be algae blooms in the back end and shallows of the marina. Drawing from previous experience, the fish in the marina usually has a weedy/muddy taste to them...not my taste preference at all. But some fish are large enough to be kept for the table, while some are too large to be kept based on consumption guide. Malama o ke kai Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger. Life List: 577 species and counting (2016: 91 new species) http://muskiebaitadventures.blogspot.ca/...-list.html |
