RE: Tackle/Fishing Supplies..Tips/Tricks
Hey,
I was packin up my fishin' bag and noted that one tool I use a lot has not been mentioned on the forum yet: The Worm Blower……… I have several of these – a great device. Long ago I did use a hypodermic – but was a pain to keep it safely stowed in my bag. The commercial versions aren’t that expensive…………. $3 or $4 and have a safety cap. These are used to inject air into your worm so that it floats……… on a slip sinker or split shot set up it makes the bait much more visible to the fish (it floats up above your weight). I’ve found that the best results are achieved by injecting a small amount of air (just enough to give the worm positive buoyancy). Too much looks unnatural............... Experiment – you’ll see…………. Can be a deadly presentation on a slow retrieve………… adds another trick to yer show........... I’ve also found that this device can be used to inject air into small dead minnows, or to inject flavours/scents into any bait including worms (ie vanilla). Cheers, OldTimer <>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><> See you on the river. |
