No, haven't seen suckers running there. I'm talking about the Rouge. We get some suckers up in our area... but unfortunately it's not as great as other tribs.

Unfortunately some people seem to believe that rivers are fish sanctuaries until trout opener. You'll receive comments and mean looks, but you're allowed to fish for what's open. Just because trout is closed doesn't mean the river becomes a fish sanctuary.

edit: just don't show up with a float rod and roe bags and beads. Then there's some sort of reasonable suspicion that you're targetting trout, but I'm not sure if the MNR can ticket you for this... probrably better to be safe than sorry.

Careful - READ THE REGS - some tributaries ARE sanctuaries until the opener........
