Compact Tackle Boxes .....what do you put in it?
Hello everyone,

I just purchased a smaller size plano tackle box at Bass Pro today because I realized that lugging around my huge tackle box which holds every single lure and fishing gear I own is just too cumbersome and heavy frankly! So here it is, what should I put in the smaller box. I know a few basics like variety of hooks, sinkers, top water, spinners plastics (cannot exclude plastics especially for BASS). I pretty much have my own ideas of what should go in but then I thought what a great question to ask other anglers......I might get a great idea or maybe someone else will.

So lets hear it guys, what do you take with you when you are off to explore another fishing adventure for a few hours. Surely you don't bring big bertha??

I usually only take the most important things with me. Also I like to always keep a spool of line with me. And pliers are a must. Aside from that try to have one of everything, one musky/pike lure a spoon and most of the bass stuff covers every other fish, but definitely do not narrow your tackle down to only one species unless you know that you only want that type of fish.

Good luck Smile.

Here's one of my smaller tackle solution.

http://ontarioshorefishing.com/forum/Thr...93#pid2093

I have a bigger folder that serves to hold terminal tackle for saltwater...hook from 1/0 to 10/0, wire, 350lb to 500lb swivels...etc.

Malama o ke kai

Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger.

I have one in my car. Just when I decide to hit the waters out of the blue. This contains 3 plugs of variety (sinking, suspending & floating) not bigger than a HJ9. 4 different sizes of spinners #4 being the biggest. a few jigs and hooks swivels and crossloks. This tackle box is inside a bigger ziplock with 3 different lines. 1 mono 8lb. 2 fluoro. 6lb & 4lb.

Well finally filled up the new carry around tackle box. Tried to make it as compact and versatile as possible. I included what I thought was key such as spinners 1 to 4 size, plastics, spoons (salmon will be coming into the rivers soon), jerkbaits, buzzers and a tray of crankbaits. I am pleased overall with the results... took some pix and would love to hear any thoughts or improvements. The plano is a sweet bag......just a little pricey....oh well....
