Florida, Belize, Guatemala... what a trip!
Hey guys,
I wanted to share a trip I disappeared on this winter. It started as an attempt to catch myself a tarpon in Belize, but ended up as so much more! Here's the link: http://catchingthemall.com/what-i-owe-to-the-tarpon/ Here are some spoilers... After sort of failing over and over in Florida... (not a tarpon) (not a tarpon) (nope, not a tarpon) I emerged from Belize with some incredible fish stories... ... and then did some sightseeing in Guatemala to celebrate! After all of that I added 15 new species to my life list =). Hope you enjoy the read or picture-skimming, whatever you're into! |

Spectacular trip. Good for you.
Loved reading all about it, and the great collection of pictures completes the visualization. Cheers, OldTimer <>< I once gave up fishing. It was the most terrifying weekend of my life. ><> See you on the river. |

Awesome sauce. See, I told you it was a waste of time trying to get a Tarpon in Florida
Need to go back to Belize and catch a Permit and visit Guatemala for some freshwater fishing (plus Tikal, Flores, Antigua...etc). I see the link to your "next adventure"...not posting it here? Or the small fish not worthy? Malama o ke kai Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger. Life List: 577 species and counting (2016: 91 new species) http://muskiebaitadventures.blogspot.ca/...-list.html |

haha OT, the chicken beer was actually pretty awful... at least I tried it! It's their national beer, that rooster face is everywhere!
And Ken I really did get super lucky with the weather and the permit were a breeze. Also, Kennan said they had just showed up within the one or two weeks before I arrived. I guess there's not usually a winter bite for them? Anyways I hope my day can be somehow replicated because it was crazy! And oh those small fish are worthy..... hundreds of hours of worthy!!! Just pacing myself hahah |
