The Baja rod is a lot like a 3+ carp action rod, way stiffer than the usual spinning rod, and it's a total broom handle compared to the whippy-ass interline. Surprisingly good line feel and good casting action despite having narrow eyes and 11 of them (and me using a wide spool flueger.... hahaha), worked really well with a 2oz zig-rig on Lake Mead. Carp there only average 10lbs though, so no real test for the strength of the rod. I am off to Vegas again next week, but I have to scout out a new fishing hole. Apparently Willow Beach Trout Hatchery had a major breakdown in Dec '13, they managed to emergency release 11,000, but lost another 20,000 trout due to lack of water flow. Since then the fishing has completely died off, as the big stripers have buggered off south to Lake Mohave to seek new food. I did get reports of a fairly large school of Razorback suckers in the area, but they are a protected species...... so you really can't catch more than one "by accident" to cross it off your list Going to try my luck at Kingman wash and a few other places if I can. http://www.fishingtoronto.com |

Cool stuff, Mike!
The rod sounds like something I'll appreciate. The 10'6" Trigger rated for 2-6oz looks really promising as well. Price is awesome on these rods! Let me know if you can get a Razorback sucker "by accident" Malama o ke kai Caution - Objects in picture are smaller than they appear. I am genetically predisposed to make fish look bigger. Life List: 577 species and counting (2016: 91 new species) http://muskiebaitadventures.blogspot.ca/...-list.html |

Less section rod actually cost less than what I had paid for. Unless you witness the rod close up, you will never witness these rods being decent duty compared to normal 10ft rod rated 8-15lber. I am using them as travel rod to be fitted to my hand carry luggage. I already own 4 long rod 10'+ long for my salmon fishing during fall. |
