I've been there a few times but have never seen anyone fish there with a boat or canoe, but I did see one man canoeing for exercise, once. I didn't think canoeing or boating was allowed on a small body of water like Milne. You can still catch them from shore it's just gonna be harder |

You just have to work your way around and hopefully you find a spot that does the job. I think a decent place would be near the dam but you have to stay I believe 50 feet away from it when fishing, I'm not 100% sure the actual distance away though, maybe another member could chime in on this. |

No rule about the top side of the dam, but you need to be atleast 75 meters i think downstream of the dam if you are fishing.. The rouge river system is considered to be a navigatable river so yes anyone can use a canoe in any part of it you can put a boat and navigate it in the system. you can shore fish it, if you go there today you will notice the water level is low, this will help you learn where all the deep spots are for when the pond water level is at it's normal level. |

RE: Where can you catch Rainbow Trout and SteelHeads in Richmond Hill/Markham
This morning, I fished the Rouge River from 16th and Woodbine to where it flows under the 404. All I caught were a few small creek chub, but I got a lot of exercise walking on rough terrain. I parked near the funeral home and had to venture onto land that was partially fenced off. There was a path along parts of the river and several old, rotting wooden bridges. Not sure if it's worth coming back here.

there are resident rainbow trout in that area, you may also find some brook trout at the right time of year.
the migratory rainbow run has been over for a few weeks now, and the fish that have dropped back can still be found in toogood pond and also milne pond. |

nope i farily sure its further down stream than just 75 feet.
There is this one place that us "LOCALS" call the "WIRE HOLE" and measured out it is about 15 feet further away from the distance you are allowed to fish from the dam.. I am fairly certain that distance is greater than just 75 FEET... ~Jeremy |
