Single Hooks

I'm going with single hooks on my spinners and spoons! Anybody with me? Tongue

(maybe even on my plugs too!)

Give it a go and report back! lol.

Have you seen the new Sebile crank bait? It's a pretty cool single hook idea

RE: Single Hooks
A portion of my lures are single hook now, and half of those are barbless. Started this a few years back - since in our western provinces trebles and barbs are banned or frowned on in some lakes and rivers.

They work fine on mid size lures and greater. Trebles are better on ultralight size spinners and spoons.

I do a lot of river fishing - you lose a lot less tackle using singles...........

Here's a handy link and more info:

RE: Single Hooks
Regardless of the fact that fish are cold blooded it goes against my grain to unnecessarily rip any beings face apart. There is also the issue of snagging that you bring up as well.

I've been buy the blue fox spoons and most include a single hook.

I guess the biggest issue would be the action of the lure, is it compromised by single hook.

More reading and some experimenting is in order (for me)
