You're right... totally under appreciated. When I have used live bait, I've freelined it with just a circle hook and let the bait do its own thing next to weeds... and wait for a steady slow tug... worked for me. I can see how a bobber would control the situation a bit more though.
anyway let's go out there and photograph some garbage!! (and throw it out properly after)
