RE: Fly Tying Course
Conch?

I've got most of the material from when I first started tying in 94 or 95. So now I just buy alittle here and there.

Tying up the same flies over and over again is good exercise but it does get boring fast.

For inspiration check out Graham Owen's site. Don't know if they'll catch more fish but they sure are nice to look at.

RE: Fly Tying Course
It's expensive to get quality base materials, good capes, a half decent vice, bobbins, and such.......... but so's any hobby.

Fly tying is cool in that you get the satisfaction of catching a fish on your creation.

It's also a great pastime for the winter months....... or when ever. It entertained me many nights while I worked on the road long ago.

Some of my creations:

Recently I sold off most of my stuff - but kept just enough to tie my favorite few patterns (Wooly Worms). I still tie a few now and then - still fun.

Cheers,

Glad that you're watermarking your pictures Ken.

Some sick flies here!

I'm mostly impressed by the penny shot... steady hand required on those ones...
