Motion was "held" by executive committee chair Rob ford, which I believe means it goes back to council for debate on June 6th.

Dave has posted on fishing fury that No Fishing signs have now gone up at all the waterfront parks across downtown Toronto. I don't know how far this stretches right now, I will walk my usual spots tomorrow morning to see if OP, coronation park are now off limits. Hopefully this ban doesn't also include Tommy Thompson Park, AshBridges Bay and The Islands too.

Can we change the title of the topic from banned in Harbour front to banned in Toronto City?
Word coming back is that the fishing ban will apply to all city parks not just Toronto Harbour. It looks like sign posts are already going in at Ashbridges bay and Humber Park, No one is confirming or denying at this point if Toronto Islands will also be off limits by the end of the summer, but it seems that its just a case of how long it will take them to get around all the parks to install the new signage. It looks as if they intend to kill off shore fishing completely right across Toronto City Parks. http://www.fishingtoronto.com |
